Spring Break

As students and families get ready for spring break, Sunrise School Division would like to remind families that the province continues to advise against non-essential travel especially during the upcoming break. Travel to cottages or second properties for recreational purposes is not recommended. Follow the links provided for information on travel and self-isolation requirements. Have a safe and enjoyable break! See you back April 05, Day 03 on the school calendar.

Sunrise Board Parent and Community Survey

The Board of Trustees is currently conducting a review of our strategic plan and we are seeking valuable input from our employees, parents and community members at this time. The surveys are anonymous and will help guide our conversation, providing clarity on the desired direction in which we want to move in order to better serve the needs of our students and improve student learning. We thank you for sharing your input and encourage your continuous engagement throughout the process. Please click the name of this news item to access the survey.

Sunrise School Division Community Bulletins

The division took a break from sending weekly bulletins to enjoy a brief period of very
little change to Covid protocols in schools. The intent was an attempt at experiencing
some stability and normalcy during this pandemic. Community bulletins for the
remainder of this school year will be sent on Wednesdays if there is new information or
changes to protocols in schools.

Semester 2 Blended Learning

Students at LdBSS will begin semester two on Monday, February 08 in a blended learning plan. Click here for schedule and school calendar information.

Family Guide to Microsoft Teams

At Sunrise, Microsoft Teams (part of Microsoft Office 365) is our virtual learning tool for all schools. We've prepared a document to help you and your student to get started with Teams.

Community Bulletin

There is nothing new to announce in this week's community bulletin, so it was not sent out to families. It is available here for those who would like to review it.

Remote Learning Attendance

During the two week period of remote learning, attendance will be taken daily by teachers for every student. Students are expected to participate in scheduled meetings and log in to teams to pick up assignments and check in with teachers. Please see the attached letter from Principal, Chrissy Viznaugh for more information on expectations for student attendance.
